Carmelo Iacolino and Vincenzo Vecchiola were raised in Sicily, and grew up working in the family restaurant business in Porto Empedocle, on the South coast. They love to fish, and love to eat seafood - a fact clearly reflected in the Ristorante Buon Gusto menus. Carmelo immigrated to America in 1973, and went to work at Montclair, his brother's restaurant on Green Street in San Francisco. By 1988, Carmelo was ready to open his own restaurant, and asked Vincenzo to join him as a partner. After scouting the San Francisco Bay Area for a suitable location, the friendly Italian community in South San Francisco assured them that there was more than enough room for another Italian restaurant in town, and Ristorante Buon Gusto met success, right out of the starting gate - a success that the restaurant continues to enjoy to this day.
Monday through Friday: Lunch, 11:30 AM - 2:30 PM; Dinner, 5:00 PM - 9:30 PM Saturday: (not open for lunch, except for private parties of 30 or more); Dinner, 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM Sunday (not open for lunch, except for private parties of 30 or more); Dinner (banquet menu), 4:30 Pm - 9:30 PM
